On the 26th of September, Liberty had the great pleasure of hosting Valerie Mathews’ debut public exhibition of her artwork, titled “Reflections.”
The collection sought to capture moments where time and space feel still—elevated and introspective—while exploring life’s most important elements: emotions, decisions, and connections.
Inspired by the Australian landscape and humanity’s relationship with nature, viewers were immersed in natural elements—from drifting clouds and the spray of the sea, to falling rain, water reflections, and the ever-changing dance of light throughout the day.
Throughout the creative journey and during the final exhibition, we at Liberty were truly impressed by how Valerie managed to balance the demands of life—demonstrating that it is indeed possible to thrive in a corporate career, nurture home and family, while still pursuing a lifelong passion for art.
With most of the paintings now sold, Valerie is already envisioning her next body of work; you can follow her journey on Instagram @valeriemathewsart and visit her website at valeriemathewsart.com.
We also extend our warmest thanks to the successful bidder of the silent auction. The piece “Sunrise” has now sold, with all proceeds generously donated by Val to St. Canice’s Kitchen in Kings Cross, a charity dedicated to providing meals and support to the homeless and those in need.
