Corporate success is not measured by financial indicators such as stock price, shareholder returns, or annual profits. It is measured by the impact of our actions on the lives of people, the quality of human life, and the stewardship of the environment we share.
As corporate leaders, we have a collective duty to leave a better world for the generations to come than the one we received from the generations before.
It’s about seeing beyond the numbers and recognising that our role as leaders is to contribute to a better environment which thrives on #sustainability, #conservation, #cleanenergy, #reuse, #recycling, and does not thoughtlessly waste food.
Did you know that in New South Wales alone, a staggering 1.7 million tonnes of food is wasted every year? Households are the largest contributor to that, accounting for 688,000 tonnes of #foodwaste, annually. While our homes contribute significantly to this waste, there are countless people across the globe who face hunger. Did you know that more than 30% of produce is wasted or that the process of destroying wasted produce at landfills or turning it into compost causes carbon emissions that are harmful to the environment?
Liberty IT Consulting Group had the pleasure of hosting our end-of-year client event at Re in South Everleigh. The focus of the event was to focus on the Future and what is being done and can be done in the realm of sustainability, technology, and finance. We were joined by 3 globally recognised and inspirational speakers; Janet Salem from FootprintLab, Louise Tran from OzHarvest, and Matt Whiley from Re. Thank you all who attended, and we are looking forward to hosting you at our next event in the new year.
